Melitta invented this style of filter, so they're the standard to be judged by. I'm glad I bought this particular quantity (600 filters) because it will be a long time before they run out. I like some of the competitions filter idea of having a tab at one side so they're easier to open, but it's still not much of a problem. I love my coffee and know that these filters will work better than any other for delivering the best coffee I can buy and grind. It can't make cheap coffee better, but it will make the best coffee you can get out of what you put in. Read some of the online sites about how to brew the best cup, because it's worth your time.

With the possible exception of the French press, nothing beats the Melitta cone shaped filter. The shape is important. Compared to flat-bottomed filters, the taste of the resulting coffee is always better.

Similar in design to the classic Chem-ex coffee maker, the Bistro by Bodum makes smooth, delicious coffee. The insulation works well and the rubber gripping ensures ease of use. I adored this coffee maker, but give it just 4 stars because a very slight bump while washing it caused the glass to crack.
Customer Review: Just a matter of time before it breaks
I have to concur with the (Bodum stock holder?) review above, it is a cool looking pot which should impress your friends while it lasts. The real deal is that it is not a great performer when it comes to keeping your coffee warm for any length of time. As well, mine shattered while sitting on a (wood) table, 10 minutes after brewing a pot, with no real cause. Pop, shatter, that was it. It's your money. Good luck.

As someone stated, the item shown is not the item sold. i purchased a Senseo, which I love, but the filters and "extras" don't fit! If you call the company who sold the items, they don't stand behind they're product blaming Senseo for not supporting their "third party" item. Waste of money and Amazon should be ashamed for advertising this item as long as they have (I bought mine last November!)
Customer Review: Excellent refillable coffee filter
This coffee filter, combined with the Senseo, can produce a truly outstanding and consistent cup of coffee on a regular basis. I have used this filter for over a year (more than 300 cups of coffee) and found it first rate, especially if you like a strong, full flavored cup of your own coffee brand. I used to be an espresso drinker but prefer a large cup in the morning and this does it. Couple of points: 1) Make sure and use as fine a grind as you can without slowing the Senseo water flow down to a drip - I use the espresso setting on a Breville Conical Burr grinder with no problem. 2) Use a good burr grinder - it makes a BIG difference - spending the extra money will be worth it. 3) For a good strong full cup of coffee fill the filter to the top rim and then tamp it down - I use a 1/3 cup measuring cup as a tamper which works fine - then press down the plastic cover. 4) Prime the Senseo by running it for about half a cup of water before inserting the filter and then reheat - ensures the water is at full temp. 4) You WILL have to manually control the 2 cup and OFF button on the Senseo to turn it on and off, since the amount of coffee produced is totally dependent on the grind setting, the amount of coffee, and the tamping. That's it! It's about the same trouble as using a standard espresso machine. And the Senseo is beautifully designed to be easy to clean. The Presto filter is also designed like a tank, and will last for a very long time.
